Build the whole look on one photo before the event, not during it.
Makeup and hair chosen separately often fight on the day. Preview the combination together on your own photo, and arrive with the argument already settled.

How it works

The adapted result, with your identity held steady Add your photo
Upload a clear, front facing photo with your hair visible and, if you can, little makeup on. A bare starting point lets you build the full look in layers instead of arguing with yesterday's eyeliner.

A reference you can actually take to a professional Build it in the order the day will
Describe the hair first: the style, the colour if it is changing, up or down. Then the makeup on top of it: base, eyes, lips, and how strong each should be. If you already know the dress colour, mention it; the look has to live next to it.

A clear before-and-after preview on you Turn one dial at a time
Set the full look beside your original. If it feels like too much, soften one element only and rebuild: the lip down a shade, or the hair a little smoother. Save every serious contender, because the one you pick at midnight is rarely the first one you built.
A makeup and hair reference that is actually yours
- Hair and makeup combined on your own photo, balanced against each other and your colouring.
- A side by side with your untouched photo, so the full transformation is judged honestly.
- Two or three versions of the look at different strengths, ready to choose between calmly.
- A saved result for your Salon Card, so your stylist and makeup artist work from the same picture instead of two descriptions.
The look is one decision, not two
A bold lip chosen on Monday can collide with the big, glamorous hair chosen on Tuesday. Strong eyes plus strong hair plus a strong dress is how a look tips from polished to costume. The balance only shows when the parts are on the same face at the same time. Uptone builds the makeup and the hair onto your own photo together, keeping your features and colouring untouched, so you can tune the parts against each other while changing your mind is still free.
Where this struggles
One photo, one light
The preview is a single photograph in a single light. Event days are not. Flash photography can flatten a base and wash out a lip, and evening light deepens everything. Build the look a touch stronger than your everyday taste if photographs matter, and treat the preview as the plan rather than the guarantee.
Two professionals have to build it
A preview assumes the hair and makeup land exactly as shown. On the day, two different people with two different styles execute it, and timing has a vote as well. The saved look helps more than anything else can, because it gives both of them the same target; it still cannot hold the curls up for eight hours.
Your photo stays yours.
Uptone edits your own photo rather than replacing you with a generic model. It never rates your appearance, and you can delete your photos whenever you choose.
Questions people ask
- Can I build my whole wedding or event look in one preview?
- Yes, that is exactly what this page is for. Build the hair and makeup together, save the version you choose to your Salon Card, and hand both your stylist and your makeup artist the same finished picture at the trial. Disagreements get settled at the trial, not on the morning itself.
- Should I decide the hair or the makeup first?
- The hair, usually. Hair sets the frame and the formality, and makeup is easier to tune up or down around it. If one element is non negotiable, such as a lip colour you love, fix that first instead and build everything else to sit quietly beside it.
- How many versions should I save?
- Two or three is the useful range: your favourite, one softer, and one stronger. More than that and you are shopping, not deciding. Sleep on the shortlist if the event allows it; the right one is usually obvious the next day.
Retouching is one half of what Uptone does. The other is trying a full makeup look on the same photo.
