See where the pendant lands before you order it.
A pendant necklace is two decisions sold as one: where the pendant drops to, and whether the chain can carry it. Preview the drop and the pairing on your own neckline before you buy.

How it works

The adapted result, with your identity held steady Add your photo wearing the neckline
Choose a photo in the top or dress the pendant is for, neck and upper chest visible. The drop only means anything against the neckline it will live with.

A reference you can actually take to a professional Describe the pendant and chain
Name the pendant style and rough size, the chain length, and whether the chain is fine or chunky. Between two drop lengths? Preview both. The difference between classic and awkward is often one chain length.

A clear before-and-after preview on you Check the landing point and the line
Look at where the pendant rests and whether the chain hangs in a clean curve or strains straight under the weight. Save the version where the pendant sits centred and the chain still looks relaxed.
A pendant necklace reference that is actually yours
- The pendant at its real drop point on your own neckline, not floating in a product photo.
- Two drop lengths side by side, so the collarbone question is answered by sight.
- Fine and chunky chain versions under the same pendant, to test the balance before it fails in person.
- A saved reference with the chain length noted, ready to check against a listing.
The drop and the balance
Where a pendant lands is its whole effect. At the collarbone it reads classic and works with most necklines. Lower, between the collarbones and the bust, it draws a longer line and suits plainer, higher tops. A pendant that stops exactly at a neckline edge looks like a mistake in both directions. Balance is the quieter half of the decision. A fine chain under a heavy pendant bows, slides the pendant off centre and wears out faster, while a chunky chain under a small pendant swallows it. Pendant size needs your frame as its reference too: a delicate pendant that looks fine on a small frame can vanish on a broader one. Uptone puts the pendant on your photo, in your neckline, so both the drop and the balance are judged on you.
Where this struggles
Chains behave worse in real life
A preview hangs every chain perfectly. In life, pendants slide toward the lowest point, flip over, and twist the chain as you move, and a too fine chain under a heavy pendant will do all three by lunchtime. Judge drop and proportion here, then weigh the chain and pendant weights in the listing before you buy.
The pendant's back and bail stay hidden
Product photos and previews both show the face of the pendant. How it hangs depends on the bail, the loop it threads through, and whether the pendant is balanced or top heavy, none of which a front view reveals. For a pendant you plan to wear daily, that detail matters more than the front.
Your photo stays yours.
Uptone edits your own photo rather than replacing you with a generic model. It never rates your appearance, and you can delete your photos whenever you choose.
Questions people ask
- How do I choose a pendant size?
- Against your frame and your neckline, not the listing photo. A pendant should be visible at conversational distance without covering the neckline it sits in. Preview it at the drop you want: if you have to zoom in to appreciate it, it is too small for that drop length.
- Why does my pendant keep sliding off centre?
- Usually the chain is too fine for the pendant, or the bail grips the chain unevenly, so the pendant migrates as you move. The preview cannot show this, but it can stop you repeating it: if you are replacing a slider, choose a chunkier chain or a fixed pendant attached at two points.
- What drop length suits a high neckline?
- A longer one, so the pendant lands on the fabric below the neckline with room to spare, or a short one that sits on the skin above it. The failure is the middle length that parks the pendant on the neckline edge itself. Preview both candidates against the actual top.
