Help

How things work, and what to do when they don't

Getting started

Do I need an account to try it?
No. You can run your first look as a guest. Creating a free account is what lets you save it, and your guest work carries across when you sign up — you never start over.
What makes a good photo?
Front-facing, natural or even lighting, no heavy beauty filter, and your hairline visible if you want hair guidance. If a photo will make the result unreliable, we tell you exactly what is limiting it rather than showing a generic error.
What can I upload as inspiration?
Screenshots, camera-roll photos, anything you saved. Please only upload images you have the right to use.

Results

The result doesn't feel like me
Tell us on the result itself — the “Does this still feel like you?” control takes a reason, and you can rebuild the look with that feedback. It is the single most useful thing you can do, and it changes what we show you next.
How accurate are the shades?
Treat them as a direction rather than an exact match. Screens, cameras and room lighting all shift colour. Each guide carries a confidence note, and when we are unsure we say so instead of overstating.
My look failed to generate
Your inputs are kept and you are not charged for it — a failure on our side never uses up one of your looks. Retry from the same screen, or swap the photo if the failure was about image quality.

Your profile and products

Uptone got my colouring wrong
Change it. Every classification we infer stays marked as a suggestion until you confirm it, and your correction outranks our analysis from then on.
Do I have to add my whole makeup bag?
No, and you should not feel you have to. Two or three products already change what the guides suggest. There is no setup to complete and no reminder to finish it.

Billing and privacy

What is free?
One look a month, your profile, before-and-after previews, a basic recreation guide, and up to ten saved looks. No card is required.
How does cancelling work?
Cancel from Billing at any time. You keep access until the end of the period you already paid for, then return to the free plan with your account and saved looks intact.
How do I delete my photos?
Privacy and data has controls to delete saved photos, and to delete your account entirely. Deleting removes the stored files rather than hiding them behind a flag.

Still stuck?

Email help@uptoneai.com and tell us what happened. If it is about a specific look, include the link — it tells us far more than a description can.

If something Uptone said felt wrong rather than broken, we want to hear that too. See what Uptone will never do.
