Side-on or angled photos
A style is judged on the jaw and chin, and a sharp angle hides both. Front-facing gives the honest answer.
Density is a guess
We can show the shape. Whether your own hair grows in thickly enough to fill it is something only time answers, and patchy growth is common on the cheeks.
Very long styles
A garibaldi or a long ducktail changes the silhouette below the chin, and if the photo crops there the result has nowhere to go.
Colour follows your hair

Yes, and it is the one most worth running before a big shave. Clean shaven is one of the seventeen styles and it removes existing facial hair rather than adding any.
02Will it show what my beard would actually grow like?
It shows the shape accurately. Density is the part it cannot know: patchy growth on the cheeks is common and only time answers it, so treat a full beard preview as the best case rather than the guaranteed one.
03Why is the colour slightly off?
Facial hair often grows in a different shade from head hair, frequently redder or greyer. The preview matches your head hair because that is what it can see, so read the colour as approximate.
04Does it work if I already have a beard?
Yes, in both directions. It will grow a goatee into a full beard, trim a full beard into a boxed one, or take it all off.
